DARIAH is a European research infrastructure for the arts and humanities. Its mission is to empower scientific communities with digital methods to create, network and share knowledge about culture and society.

The DARIAH annual events combine various forms of encounter and exchange between DARIAH researchers and the wider cultural heritage, arts and humanities, and computer, information and data sciences communities. This year’s event will focus on ‘The Past’. Whether through digital methods, workflows, archives, computational analyses, interactive media or other digital means, this year we aim to showcase innovative approaches to researching the past.

This year’s event will take place from 17 to 20 June 2025 in Göttingen, Germany. The venue will be the Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen). The 17 June is reserved for internal DARIAH meetings, while the main conference will take place from 18 to 20 June.

This year, the DARIAH Annual Event will take place immediately after the Text+ Plenary of the NFDI consortium Text+, which will be held on 16 and 17 June. Text+, a consortium dealing with text- and language-related research data, addresses disciplines that are also of great interest to DARIAH.

A highlight of this year’s event will be the keynote speech by Gabo Arora, an internationally renowned and multi-award-winning immersive artist, professor, entrepreneur and former UN diplomat. He will speak on the topic ‘Bicycle of The Heart’.
