UC4B2026 – 3rd Base4NFDI User Conference

This year marks the third edition of the Base4NFDI User Conference (UC4B2026), taking place on November 24–25, 2026 at the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Haus Potsdamer Straße.

The UC4B has become a central forum for presenting, discussing, and operationalizing current developments in Base4NFDI-funded services, fostering exchange on incubator projects, community integration efforts, and strategic service topics across the NFDI.

The 2026 program welcomes contributions from across the NFDI and beyond. Members of sections, working groups, consortia, Basic Service teams, and related initiatives are invited to participate and share ideas, experiences, and best practices.

Call for Contributions

We invite abstract submissions showcasing activities and experiences related to Base4NFDI or Basic Services in the context of the NFDI.

Possible contribution types:

  • Incubator Presentations – Reports from Base4NFDI Service Incubators showcasing their added value; especially presentations that address challenges, approaches taken, and lessons learned (~15 minutes including Q&A).
  • Talks – Short, accessible plenary presentations on topics such as user stories beyond incubators, how Basic Services solved disciplinary challenges, operational models, missing Basic Services, or insights from services outside the NFDI.
  • Posters – Open to all topics related to Basic Services. Accepted posters will be presented in a one-minute madness session.

Submission details:

  • Abstract length: max. 500 words
  • Language: English
  • Submission deadline: July 22, 2026
  • Submission portal: events.gwdg.de/event/1337/abstracts/
  • At least one author per accepted contribution must attend in person (no virtual participation)
  • Slides and posters will be made available on Zenodo after the event

Registration for participation will open in August/September 2026.
