Community Activities

Community activities are one of the central pillars of Text+. They offer a range of services, from the Registry, which can be contributed to by the community, to collections of tools and tutorials curated by Text+ and made available to the community for use, as well as guidelines, conferences, workshops, and curricular recommendations.

This is complemented by participation in conferences and lecture series at research institutions in German-speaking countries. Our aim is to collaborate with researchers from all areas of text-based scholarship as an open, participation-oriented information hub.

With this in mind, we organize a wide range of tutorials, workshops and other activities.

In addition to planning and organizing events, networking with stakeholders and the community is particularly important to us. In this context, our aim is to create an open service landscape for Text+ in collaboration with specialized information services and research associations. The first results of this partnership can be seen in the Editions Task Area, where the exchange with specialized information services has led to a regular Jour Fixe FID/Text+.

Tutorials and Tools

Text+ offers a collection of existing online tutorials on topics and tools for digital editing, which are continuously updated, expanded and promoted. In addition, new tutorials are created for tools covered by the curated platform based on feedback from workshops and training sessions, as well as from the mentoring program.

Consulting

Our community activities also include support in the form of consulting services, which can be requested via our helpdesk. We are also available to help you at conferences and workshops. Just contact us during the events and we will be happy to forward your request to our helpdesk.

Text+ Blog

The Text+ Blog is a central channel for external communication for the Editions task area. There, we report on past, current, and upcoming events, publications, and calls for submissions, while also focusing on the data culture of our community. Contributions can be submitted at any time. Once submitted, they are processed by the blog editors in close collaboration with submitting authors.
